We went on the tour of the house after exploring all the grounds. Ian must have been thirsty because he crossed the ropes in George Washington's dining room to try to get some of the fake (he thought it was real) ice in the antique wine cooler. He didn't even touch anything.
I swear Dan and I had only looked away for 2 seconds when he did it. Dan held Ian's hand pretty securely after that. Ian let him because he was a little freaked out that we reacted so dramatically. I'm just glad he didn't mess up some priceless relic.
Hannah and Ian playing on GW's front lawn.
Hannah used Ely as a pack horse frequently. Ely was just too nice to say, no.
That's the Potomac River behind us. There were gorgeous views of the river from the house.
Ian thought it was funny to hold GW's hand.

Hope you don't mind, I got your blog from the Deter's. I love Mt. Vernon. It looks like you all had a very busy, very fun, very cool trip.
