We tried to go to the Air and Space Museum on the Mall, but it was wicked crowded and the kids were still pretty tired just from the drive to DC. The only unoccupied space was under exhibits. Ely suggested seeing the newer museum next to the Dulles airport. There were full size planes and jets everywhere.
We watched the planes take off from the airport nearby. I think Gwen walked more than Hannah did (see pic at Mt. Vernon below).
The space shuttle was bigger than I thought it would be and the SR-71 was smaller.
