We thought DC would be a great spring break vacation because it would be warmer than NY. We were wrong. It was a great vacation because there were so many things to do and see, but the weather stunk. Here are a few of the highlights.
Did you know there's an aquarium under the Chamber of Commerce? It's kind of a random place for that sort of thing, but the kids really liked seeing all the sea life. One tank had an alligator at floor level that swam right up to the kids. Isaac and Ian were freaked out by its "evil yellow eyes".
We could have spent to entire day at the Museum of Natural History alone.
The Museum of American History had a lot of fun stuff for the kids to see and do.
The White House was anticlimactic. Maybe someday when the kids are older we'll try the tour.
I think the kids favorite part of the whole trip was riding the metro to the Mall.
They also liked watching Avatar on Ely's laptop. Who looks the most tired in this picture? Ely, thanks for letting us invade. We had a great time.

DC is so much fun! Great pictures!
What a great trip! Poor thirsty Ian--but yay for grabbing him in time. That alligator sounds pretty nerve-wracking too. I so wish we could take our kids on trips together--too bad we live so far apart!
DC is the BEST...with or without kids! There are so many things to do. And a lot of them are FREE! How fun! We miss you guys a lot. Glad you're enjoying NY and area.
They all look so sweet together. We really need to get out there and visit too!
